Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau

A purple-magenta color with a nose of paint thinner. Not sure how anyone could drink this stuff.

Delicious. What a nice surprise! We all really enjoyed this at new years eve early on. The "village" is definitely a step up from the regular nouveau...

Saw a review suggesting it was pleasantly surprising and a good match for Thanksgiving. It fell short on both accounts. Not awful, but really very little going for it. Bland with little fruit.

I have a very difficult time with this wine. Why do they sell and market this other than as a symbolic gesture? It is not particularly good wine. Grape juice with a touch of dough. Not very aromatic, not a lot of fruit. Dull on the palate and heat on the finish. Hard to recommend. If you want to try the nouveau, look elsewhere.

Robijnrode wijn, aardbeien en framboos in de neus, friszuur en sappig van smaak, waarin weer veel rood fruit terugkomt. Frisse zuren in de afdronk.
