1978-1986 Chassagne-Montrachet (Tom's house in Palo Alto, California) : Fresh, rustic, sweet nose (B+). Rich palate that improved with time in the glass, almonds (B++) My #4, Group's #1 (32 pts). Tasted blind.

Burgundy dinner, multiple pairings with food. Similar to my last bottle - lovely, balanced burg.

Lovely old white burg. the bottle and fill were excellent, but the capsule was raised by some black fungus that macerated the top of the cork. I wiped off the fungus and easily extracted the cork intact. This was very fresh with subtle tropical scents (pineapple?), herbs etc.. Delicious with excellent acidity. Nothing overbrearing, just everything in perfect balance. Superb. No hurry judging by this bottle, but great now. This maker in this vineyard is very reliable for age-worthy whites.
