Crisp with abundant fruit and modest oak. Paired nicely with braised chicken thighs with pecan brown butter sauce.

Nice nose, but more than a touch of vinegar on the palate.

I rather liked this. Apple and a little citrus, 12.8 alcohol- a treat to have a California Chardonnay at this level of alcohol. Bright, light and very drinkable. I’d be inclined to drink this in the reasonably near future.

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent pale yellow-green -low-key citrus stone -med/med+ acidity, med- weight mineral-driven waxy linear citrus with a faintly creamy note highlighting the acid-tinged tangy finish -taut focused mineral-driven Chablis doppelgänger drinking well now, nice!

A new bottling from Copain and I don't know why they bothered. And given others' tasting notes, I know I'm swimming against the stream. Not much on the nose. The palate shows minerals, but not much fruit at all. Almost a sour note. OK acidity, no discernible oak influence (which is normally a positive for me with whites). Short undistinguished finish. The overall impression is a thin grocery store wine. Very disappointing given past Copain Chardonnays. I see no reason …

Opened last night with plenty left for a retaste today. Tasting at ideal temp. Just a hint of caramel on the aromatic, some sear air and apple. Lemon, slate, green apple and some acidic grip into the finish. This bottle is less balanced in tone than the previous, or perhaps my palate is attuned better today than the last bottle. It's just a little more rough in the finish so it needs time.

This is the new one. Some honeysuckle and pear, Apple peel, stone fruit pits, with great minerality.

Light sea spray nose, on the palate there is excellent underlying fruit, strong minerality, and a mouthwatering tartness; somehow full bodied while retaining a lean tautness, some saline notes emerge on the finish. A very nice, and interesting, introduction to this vineyard.

I'll get on with helping Ross with another TN. First bottle of two, and like everyone else, no experience with this cuvee yet. What I do know about the source of the fruit, if my recall is accurate, is that this is a JFW source that Wells must have liked and decided to bottle it with the portfolio of other Chards he is now doing. Prior to Copain, and this is just a guess, this fruit may have landed in …

Opened for Easter with family. No oak. Very little fruit - hint of lemon. Tons of minerality and saline. Decent finish. Would pair great with seafood, especially oysters. Most similar to the Laureles Grade but I get steelier, heavier notes on that (LG) than I do here (TB). My kind of white wine, really glad they added this to the Single Vineyard portfolio.
