P&P; this is delicious Napa Syrah! Brooding and dark, this shows flavors of black pepper, root beer, grilled beef, blackberry and plum fruit. Wish I'd bought more...this is showing nicely, likely in it's peak drinking window. Enjoy now - 2028+.

1 hour decant. Some funk initially better with decant. Predominant dark fruits upfront with some spice/pepper. Some minerality and leather at tale end The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis). It tastes like black pepper, plum and black currant (cassis). The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine has low acidity.

Really well aged now. Perfect timing.

This is a very good Syrah. Benefits from some decanting but enjoyable PNP. Great color and nose. Still a lot of fruit up front but the finish is medium at best, wish it was longer.

Slow ox for 1 hr before drinking. Fruit forward. Smooth but without a long finish. Overall enjoyable

Venge Tasting; 12/18/2015-12/19/2015 (Napa) : As noted by the Millennials, this Syrah starts off with a push that coaxes you into thinking it is going to go the distance, but then falls off almost immediately mid-palate. Initial notes of purple and black berry fruits, blackberry, dark chocolate, slate, vanilla, and some spice. As soon as it starts to work its way across the palate, it becomes hollow and flat, with a confusing, woolly texture that I have not experienced before …

Tasted at the Venge Winery. Clear, deep garnet color. Youthful aromatic nose. Dry, full- body with smooth acidity and medium round tannins. Fair/good balance, flavorful+ medium+ finish. At the end of the tasting I asked our host about the amount of air the wines had seen and was told opened that morning and under cork the duration of the day. Seemed like they may have been open longer. Overall 4/5 Price $54

Tasted at Venge Vineyards in Calistoga with India. Appearance: Red with purple pinkish hue. Nose: Plum and lots of wood. Palate/Finish: Great start then dies. A little furry from tannins, good flavor and tartiness. Red cherries. Short to med body, hits front and then dies. Opinion: Not sure if this had been opened for too long or too young. Would like to try in the future.
