Great for a Zin. Lots of fruit with typical mountain characteristics you'd expect from Chappellet. I'm not the biggest zin fan, but this is something I would enjoy drinking again.

Pretty dark. Looks like mountain fruit. Not sure if this is estate fruit? That smokey, chemical I get from Chapp wines sometimes. Bitter green maybe? Not sure. Anywhere there is some fruit under that smoke, and it smells nice. Nice palate, then a big chewy oaky (yech The Monster). This is not a blowy Zin, there is some structure, some acids but really for me totally out of balance. The dry astringent oak finish is just bad. They are heading …

A very very nice zin. Smells quite blackberry-ish - has a nice large mouthfeel, but is much less sharp and full of heat than a typical zin.
