Old world styled. Medium weight. Good structure. Upon opening LOTS of oak upon first opening. Good acidity. Drank over 3 nights. Best on night 3 as the oak seemed to dissipate and let the fruit through. Better with food.

Garnet, medium/slow legs, menthol, tar, mandarin on nose. Tempranillesque astringency in tongue with touch of bitterness. A wine built to last.

Very good RDD. Drinking very well right now. Silky tannins are very well integrated. Rich blueberry and plum flavors, vanilla and baking spices, and a very long peppery finish. Great QPR here.

Excellent RDD, classic style. One of the better Kirkland-branded wines.

PnP at 55 degrees. Bright fruit, good mouth coating entry and mid palate. Then this falls short. Different from a few months ago, good but not great. Have a few more bottles to hold, but might drink most of them sooner. Also odd of the high alcohol on this RdD, maybe too modern? +2 hrs, still short on the finish but drying tannins have taken over. Odd wine at this point. Will revisit in some time to see how it …

I like Tempranillo and was looking forward to trying this one. Severely disappointed. Didn’t find the flavors as rich or velvety. I found it minerally with a slight off putting finish on the palette.

Excellent wine. The oak is still a bit heavy-handed, I think it needs another year or two (or a good 2-3 hour decant) to tone that down and let the other flavors shine.
