Hugh Hamilton Saperavi The Oddball

A extraodrinarily interesting wine from a little-known grape which hails from Georgia (the one in Europe, not the USA!). Violent rich purple in colour, it is quite a shocking sight coming outof the bottle and through my decanting funnel! Pepper, mint (even choco-mint), mushroom, roast lamband mint jelly, pencil shavings and cigar box make for a really diverse and interesting nose and matching palate.
