Tasted along Brancaia Il Blu 2001. Satta was one point better. Incredible wine, focused, clean, balanced. Very compact, velvety, smooth, long. Great depth, juicy fruit. No traces of tiredness.

Pure sangiovese, pure Bolgheri. At 12 years of bottle age the wine is mellowed, but still full of life. Only very little bricking, no tertiary notes, still fresh fruit. Medium body, but full palate, balanced. Quite long. Very good.

Tiefes Ziegelrot mit orangem Rand. Wunderschöne ledrige Nase eines Reifen Sangiovese. Etwas nussig, rotbeerig, Sattelleder und etwas nasses Heu. Am Gaumen breitschultrig, in voller Reife. Einfach geil!

Knew that this was IGT Bolgheri and hence was quite a surprised to notice it´s 100 % Sangiovese. The palate was lush and full bodied, yet I somehow feel it´s lacking structure. Complexity and long aftertaste is there, but it´s still not of my favorites.

Nose on saddle leather and a bit of spices with some cooked prune action...not really encouraging! The palate confirms the nose, loads of cooked prunes & dates, bordeline oxydized...not pleasant at all!!!

Énorme dépot encore une fois! Un nez assez discret, un peu de fruits et d'élevage. En bouche, quelqconque, sur le tertiaire et court...bancal! Ce producteur est très inconcistant surtout depuis les 4-5 derniers millésime...j'écoule le peu qui me reste et j'évite!!!

Reddish garnet colour. Took some time to blow off the funk and then this wine is SWEET! Fresh flowers and minerals. Dark cherry core. Maybe it is the Bolgheri factor.Tiny tannins. Can't believe this is 100% sangiovese. Drinks well now with a little time.

Vendredi soir avec le souper tout italien, nous avons bu 2004 Michele Satta Cavaliere Toscana IGT , un vin très honnête, voir très bon, la robe se présente d'un rouge grenat très intense, les franges se dévoilent bien orangées, laissant percevoir une belle maturité???? certain brunelli sont déjà orangés en jeunesse. au nez, le vin donne l'impression d'être très évolué, beaucoup de tabac, fruits confits, cuir, figue? pas désagréable. J'ai le goût d'y goûté right now!!! l'attaque se fait cerise …

Had this a few months ago at an SAQ lunch meeting. Sangiovese from Maremma is very rich smooth and deep. This is not dark and brooding as Galloni of WA stated. Drinking well now. I like this modern expression of sangiovese.

Medium ruby with a garnet, almost brick, hue at the rim. The nose is intense with aromas of black olives, violets, saddle leather, tobacco and nice coffee in the background.
