Past it’s prime reminds me of an 80’s porn star trying to hang on. Cherry and other fruits but fading fast. I imagine this was best 5 years ago. Still a good bottle but I expected more.

WOW my first bottle of this wine. PnP and rank with red salmon sushi. PnP was a mistake. Open this at least an hour before drinking. Delicious Cherry, currant and cranberry fruit. Earthiness, resolved tannin. Beautiful balance. My best '05 Burgundy to date. Happy to have more. Drink or hold.

Gave an hour of air on day one and it was pretty reticent but some faint earthiness was noted and medium tannin but no discernible fruit. Checked in on day 2 and not much more On day 3 a richness in the palate and clarity of fruit were evident with cherry strawberry in the mix but at this point some oxidized effects were there. Unusually dark color. Pleasant nose. Ripe, still fairly fresh, smooth texture, but quite dense and not particularly complex. Looked and tasted more like a Pommard than a Beaune. Pretty good overall, given the relatively inexpensive price. Drink or hold.

This is the second of 6 bottles and still may be premature to breech an '05. Today this is richer and more complete vs my first taste in 2011. It needed about an hour of air to become fun and then still has room and body to improve. It remains very good to excellent Day two with entry of air retained a lot of fruit To me this means we should wait another 2-3 years

A really luscious wine - not perhaps absolutely what I would have expected but a lovely wine to simply drink and enjoy. Fruit driven to an extent but harmonious and with some grip from the velvety tannins

Roulot Meursault Meix Chavaux and 2005 Girardin Cote de Beaune Reds (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco) : Medium color. Spicy nose with red fruits. Big, sappy and woody. All in all, kind of an unrefined brute. Hardly a paradigm of finesse.

Still very primary juice but open for business and a lovely sense of poise and balance to the wine. Oak still prominent, though not invasive. Black raspberry fruit and summer strawberry, Fresh and zingy. Tannins fine and ripe and fresh acidity. Very good build in the mouth with some elements of spice. Almost mouth filling. A very enjoyable bottle. No signs though that it has been closed or is going to closing down.

beautiful floral notes as it tumbled into the glass with a fresh red berry flavor and medium tannings. It seems to get more tannic and less inviting after that but still a good drink. I think this shut down on my and that this means that the wine is still too young but with very good potential. I am moving away from the 90 point scall but would say this is very good to excellent with a lot of upside …

Bright and lively nose, with dark red fruit, hints of earthiness and a flash of licorice and peppercorn. An attack of fresh fruit, followed by a somewhat lacking midpalate and finish. Pretty harsh tannins still; I think this could use a few more years. Certainly the ripeness of '05, but the complexity on the palate is missing.
