The last vintage that they will do Sangiovese in the Super Tuscans. Rich and full and fleshy, new world fruit but old world showing on the backbone. For super Tuscan category $45 SRP, average.

Needs time, but has potential.

Dark, purple/ruby colour. Aromatic, coffeed oak, toast, nut, and carob over berry fruit nose. Full and assertive palate; dry and ripe with a grippy finish. (tasted blind: in my last two sessions I missed the Spaniard, and I thought for sure I found it this time. With all the oak and assertion I called it out as a Tinta de Toro. It was a day of being oh-so-close but not quite sticking the landing) 4/5

Strong oak influence with notes vanilla, cedar and strawberries. Needs some time for the oak to integrate with the fruit.

Surprisingly impressive showing tart cherry, strawberry, plum and spice. Full bodied, medium to high acidity but still drinkable without food, young sticky tannins and a fairly long finish. NI:4, FI:22, FC:8, B:4, L:4

Russk. On the Viking cruise. A light to medium bodied supertuscan. 13% alcohol.Unfortunately, better than most of the Germanic wines on the list. 90+

Roasted hazelnut, medium dry, medium legs. And medium finish. Wine is ok, maybe better with food..
