Good but somewhat flat.

Very enjoyable now. Red berry aromas, and more on the palate, with well-integrated lightly spiced oak, and a silky texture.

Solid, good fruit, not that complex.

Pretty tight, but excellent purity and good length.

Structure beginning to overtake the fruit. Long decant or wait 4-7 years. Good wine here, with plenty of pure fruit. Just needs some coaxing. Re-buy? Bought a case and have just a wee dent in it.

More and more I’m growing to appreciate 2017 red Burgs for the their usefulness at the table and friendliness. Not across the board mind you, but at those domaines where they didn’t prune for volume (not that I blame them) after the traumatic 2016 vintage things were fraught. Incredibly good Price/quality ratio for a village Burgundy. Fine, fruity nose with cherries dominating. Fine, fresh acidity, well integrated tannins, lots of sour cherries as well as sweet cherry sauce, spices, smoky and salty notes, sea buckthorn; medium aftertaste.

Nez qui pinotte avec légère pointe de fumée. Bouche bien fruitée, finale agréable. Beaucoup de plaisir à prix fort acceptable.

Medium (-) ruby red colour. Medium (-) nose with red currant, raspberry, green herbs, violets, leather and oak. Medium taste of red currant, raspberry, forest floor, black pepper, licorice, vanilla and mushrooms. Medium (+) long and dry finish. High acidity. Light tannins. Medium body. A very good Beaune Rouge well balanced that needs half an hour of air before serving. Goes well with duck, poultry and pork.
