The newer vintages are indeed exciting, glossy purple fruit that is very outwardly perfumed. Almost like Liger Belair, although the palate is also similarly weaker compared to nose. 93

Clear garnet. Very spicy and earthy aromas, typical CDV. If the grapes are obviously ripe, this is not especially dense or grippy, but there are elegant and pretty red and black berry flavors, with a whiff of earth, the oak is softly integrated and there is good persistence at the end. 2017 is indeed a ripe but soft vintage for early drinking, although this wine will age very well and will develop more complexity. Domaine Lamarche Visit and Tasting (Day 9, Visit 2) (Vosne-Romanée) : Barrel tasting at the domaine. Red and black cherry with good+ concentration, slightly less finesse. Needs time, better 2027 forward. 89-91 point potential.
