Miner Family Merlot Stagecoach Vineyard

A faint, cherry nose. Soft cherry fruit on the palate with a bit of currant. Pleasant, but not much else going on. Bit of a green streak as it warms up. Tannins are dusty, decent acidity and balance. Not much of a finish. I actually think it has stood up well for its age, just not a lot there to start.

deep red, orange, in color. smoked woods, earth, spice, on the nose. cherry, blueberry, sweet, mint, dried blackberry, on the palate. huge acid, medium tannins, on the finish.

Black cherry nose. Mineral and mushroom taste with hints of chocolate and tobacco. Nice finish.

This wine still has a lot of elegance, but should not be held any longer.

Has mellowed into a feminine wine with a light touch and enough class to get your attention.

A strong 89 for me. I opened this thinking I might be getting near the end of the drinking window. No way. This was bright, full of fruit, spicy and peppery, still big with mild tannins. The color did not betray its age. We had with sopitos, and it was a great match. I could have held this 2-3 more y ears easy.

Don't remember when I purchased this from Hi-Times or what it cost, but it definitely was a good choice. All the great things you want in a Merlot. Great color and nose. Wonderful mix of fruit and earth. Will have to remember to buy it again.

Disclaimer - reminents of a cold on hand with this palate... Nose of meaty, spicy, worchester'd fruit...medium-bodied, firm structure, with spicy dark, dark powdered chocolate kind of fruit. Delicious and balanced! I will drink my remaining bottle in the next few months.
