MONTRACHET — 94 The nose doesn’t show much. The palate is long and concentrated with a buttery finish, but aside from the length and the weight, it doesn’t have much to say. Not a bad wine — just not an interesting one, which almost feels worse. Maybe in twenty years it’ll wake up and decide to be great? Honestly… maybe. Lol.

DRC 2022 arrivage tasting (Martel St.Gallen) : The 2022 Montrachet is a powerful, broad-shouldered wine, delivering the richness and amplitude that are hallmarks of this great climat. Ripe orchard fruit, warm pastry, confit citrus and subtle toast tones unfurl in the glass. It’s an authoritative, textural Montralchet, a little too blowsy for my taste though with its considerable concentration. Admirers of the richer idiom of white Burgundy will find much to celebrate here, even if its sheer weight places it …

This is amazing. So much going on here and the slightly riper fruit brings very different aromatics. Super long.
