Not my favorite. Lacks acidity and appears to have an oxidative style. Salinity also evident, reminiscent of Chablis with a mild oak influence. As I am not familiar with this wine, I may have had a faulty bottle. If so, my rating should be disregarded. Other Cellar Trackers have been more generous with their scores, but for the same $$$, I could have a very good white Burgundy. Addendum: Better on day 2. Acidity in particular seems higher. I think the hype had me a little disappointed with this one. Slightly cloudy medium lemon on the eye. Honestly, it’s a bit like Meursault in that it’s got a lemony, salty, dry mineral finish, with a layer of honeyed apple at moments. And clearly aged in French oak. But the Meursault comparison ends there—it veers off in a tiny bit of a floral direction that has a granite, spritzy energy. It’s really tasty and easy to crush. I’m going to consider it my budget Meursault.
