Medium plus intensity on the nose. Lush, ripe fruit. Red cherries, menthol and rose.

SLDS January 2023 : Smoke, charcoal, cherry and earthy spices. Palate is savoury, with plenty of fruit but even more spice and earth. Medium length.

nice enough. plummy. The 2009 had last hear was hauntingly good. i will tuck my other bottles away for a decade and keep my fingers crossed

An entry level wine (albeit not a cheap one) from this high end Barolo producer. I drank this over three nights and if I had gone by the first glass I would've definitely rated this sub-90. Color is medium but first impression of nose was super tight. Almost nothing there, coaxing out a whiff of ripe strawberry perhaps. Oenocosmos Wine Fair (Intercontinental Hotel) : Pale red color, nice sweet spices, earthy, okay, nutty, Christmas cake. Smooth palate, silky texture, nice tannins and acidity, thin oak layer, red ripe cherry, currant, coffee and chocolate in the long finish.

Juicy strawberry and cherry, juniper/fir, mint, on the palate even some pineapple and guava. There’s some oak but not overbearing, fairly tannic and a little tight even after an hour or two decant but feels fresh (more in a menthol than acid way) and drinkable at the same time. Better in a couple years, probably, but this is really nice, especially considering I don’t usually love modern-leaning Nebbiolo. M body, M acid, M+ tannin. 7.9/10

Day 1 popped and poured a glass. Very lean and very Burgundian. Day 2 with dinner. Opened up. Smooth and very pretty. Smelling and tasting of dark fruit, cherries predominating. Day 3 fruit started to recede. Unresolved finish. Next bottle 3 to 5 years. No score

Tasted for lunch with beautiful dishes at Bovio, retasted for dinner. Wow, this is really great. Needs some air to open up. Super pure sweet red fruit, with notes of crushed violets, dried flowers, some tar, also some smoke and sweet spices. Same wine as the Barolo but with slightly more oak but then less aging. So its still all nebbiolo. Now bells are ringing. Fresh and brighter with a pure cool fruit running through the mid palate, Still allot of tannin there but fresher up front.

Drunk over two days. When I first heard this saw barrique, I developed certain preconceptions that turned out to be quite mistaken. On the nose I found a very austere, dark, vinous, and mineral presence: damson, sour cherry, tea, goudron, leather, damp volcanic rock.
