Clean and pleasant wine, fine if not distinguished.

Excellent pinot gris from Willamette. Bright, crisp, really nice acidity with lemon peel and a good long finish.

Faint aroma of honeysuckle and white flowers. On the palate, light-bodied, pear, honeydew melon and wet stones. Medium-length finish. A less than stellar showing in a less than stellar vintage. The 2011 Pinot Gris from King Estate is a considerably better wine.

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL) : Nose: Crisp and fresh with tones of minerals, white fruits, and pears. While not too complex, everything is done well with some nice balance. Taste: Light bodied with zippy medium+ acidity. Nice and crisp with very good tones of minerals, crushed rocks, and white fruits. Overall: This is a very good pinot gris. It isn't the most complex, but it is well balanced and very refreshing.

Solid, if lacking the complexity that I remembered from the 2009 or 10 vintage. At this price I found the Ponzi 2011 PG tasted alongside to be more compelling even if it displays noticeably more residual sugar.

Medium straw with a light gold highlight...tart nose at first that smoothed out with time, crisp entry and a medium grip...clean light and easy with rather quick finish.
