This wine is still holding its own even after the recommended drink date. Has black cherry and nice earth tones, with a hint of peppery nose. Nice finish. The tannins have almost disappeared, so I need to drink my last three bottles of this vintage by early - mid 2017. This is a very nice zin.

Decent wine for the value but not a great finish - drank at Rose Angeli's

Highly recommended on CT I was actually a bit disappointed having tried other vintages like 2010 as well as the Petit Syrah. Deep garnet colors with nuts and fruit on the nose and traces of anise and coffee on the palate. Perhaps the bottle was a little tight as the acid seemed high for a central California Zinfandel. Good restaurant price point but I would request the 2010 or defer to 2012.

Transparent violet/ruby appearance. On the lighter side of mid-bodied, with notes of blackberries, blueberries, brambles, oak, and vanilla. No discernible finish. This is a crowd pleaser and definitely better served at room temperature.

Garnet color, almost transparent. on the nose a burst of bright peppered cherries. ripe strawberries. on the palate, smooth fruit-led flavors (strawberry puree) and some coffee and spice. med+ acidity, oak-driven tannins (med plus) lip smacking strawberry finish. grapes destemmed and crushed and must sent to tanks for three day cold soak, allowing primary extraction where water acts asa solvent and breaks down the cell walls of the grape solids, extracting flavors, color, and aromas. feremntors drained and returned three …

Semi-translucent dark crimson core with paler rim; nose dominates with vanilla and mint, cherry liqueur, some floral, red fruit side of the spectrum for this Zin; medium body, sweet cherry vanilla pie with more sweet spice on the finish, lacks some structure; a more hedonistic style.

Better than expected, nice balance between the black cherry and raspberry fruit. Smooth, soft finish, with hints of vanilla and earth. Not as overdone as a lot of Zin's from Amador.

30% from their Deaver vineyard. Nose shows black cherry, raspberry, not overly Zin-like. Palate pretty nicely expressive, sweet strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, juicy profile, medium tannins backing it up. Solid entry level stuff.

At Capital Grille in Philadelphia with a burger, turned out to be a great pairing... Rich nose of dark fruits, berry, earth. Texture is chewy and thick but not heavy...would describe as fruit forward but most comes out mid palate - plums, pomegranate, dark fruits, liqueur,, cherry, dark chocolate. Would be a great pairing with BBQ, steaks, spicy chicken. Like most Zins, this guy is ready now and drinking well, wouldn't wait.

decanted 1 hour, drank with BLT sandwiches. perfect. slightly sharp and just strong enough to stand up to the sandwiches. Also light enough for a summer evening.

Event - Family - Nephew T.; 6/15/2013-6/16/2013 (San Diego, CA) : Bouquet berry. Taste berry, cherry, plum. Texture chewy. Good pairing with Calabrese salami (sweet, honey flavors). Tasted at Vin de Syrah parlor in San Diego, CA.

This was a well aged bottle of classic Amador Zin. Big, rich, a touch heavy but still balanced enough to pair with food. A little lighter touch and this might have scored higher, but then Amador Zins have a certain reputation and its almost as if a winery has to live up to the big press idea. Oh well, we still enjoyed this with a big BBQ steak.

Very one-dimensional. Raisin, chocolate, cherry are all present but subdued. Very tannic and has lots of time left in it, but what for? This wine isn't worth a second look. $15 Best Cellar.
