Francois Pinon, Vouvray, Moelleux

Much sweeter than the 1993, which showed a complexity and minerality that was impressive. This one is nice but a bit too sweet and aromatically foresquare.

Balances only moderate sweetness with a bit of grip including from the alcohol.

Apricots , honey and half ripe persimmons. Quite balanced without being overly sweet. Does lack some acidity lift probably due to the vintage. Finishes with minerality.

Dinner at Saveur Art (Saveur Art, Ion Orchard, Singapore) : Decent enough, especially considering the heat of the vintage, but not fantastic. The nose had a surprising sweet, sugary tone to it, with thick wafts of honey and nectar laying over a core of appley scents and a little drift of lanolin.
