Medium gold colour. Medium and developing nose with ripe green apples, ripe lemon, ripe white peach, salty sea, walnuts, wet stone, chalk, flint and acacia. Medium taste of ripe green apples, ripe lemon, ripe white peach, salty sea, walnuts, wet stone, chalk and flint. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Chablis Premier Cru that has matured beautifully. Needed an hour of air top open. Drink now or over the next couple of year. Goes well …

Aroma av epler, fersken og lime. Rund og oljeaktig i munnen. Modne epler, litt kalk og mineraler. Litt søt, lang utgang. Passer helt sikkert til sushi, fisk og skalldyr.

Nose of bread and lemon. Tart and medium bodied with a saline finish. I like it, but it’s nothing special. Seems overpriced. Maybe it needs to sit longer.

Nice and bright, tart apple and orange zest, apple blossoms, a saline minerally finish. Long and complete, pretty classic. B+/A-

Da Niccolo (Chez Nick). I did not take written notes so impressions only. An accomplished wine and no worries about the dreaded premox with these modern Fevres. It is sound and correct, and quite nuanced it its own particular way. This was an accomplished wine for sure, but it really did not shine and was outclassed by superior new world competition.

Da Niccolo (Our house) : Understated and pleasingly classy, like when your Uber turns out to be a new Mercedes. Breezily cool citrus and stone and a refreshing finish. I imagine everyone really enjoyed this, but it was overshadowed by the new-school Oregon style we drank at the same time.

Medium gold. Zesty and alive, wonderfully Chablis, with saline high notes and a clean minerality to it. White apple weaves with fresh lemon, you can feel the shingle, and I am half looking around for the seafood platter as this bottle makes its way around. I reckon it would add a point or so with the right food, not really a quaffer, it needs the other elements to lift it.

Da Niccolo (Nick's house) : Lemon, vetiver, pink peppercorn, balmy white peach and a hint of vanilla. Density, texture and gentle angles on the palate - it has lovely concentration and typicity. I really enjoyed this.

Reading Offline #5 - Thames Lido Dinner - Chardonnay & Pinot Noir (The Thames Lido, Reading) : Definitely into Chablis here in a slightly modern style. The nose has a chalky edge with some white flowers with lime and tarragon on backing vocals. On the palate there is a lovely leanness and tension with citrus fruits, chalky minerality and with 20 minutes' air some oyster shell. Excellent wine but just a tad in the shadow of the other two in …

Medium gold. Fabulous start to finish, the first sniff you home in, the first sip you know where you are. Saline, refreshing, mineral and chalky, with ferocious energy and verve - I so love a wine to be zippy. Citrus and floral, a lean tingle, a wave of discreet fruit. To accompany fresh langoustines, a wonderful match. One of the best whites I have had for a long while, and certainly the best Chablis, screamed typicity from every angle.

Gold medium body (12.5%) wine. The initial tart grapefruit and apple fruit evolved into pleasant apple fruit after 30 minutes. Long finish.

Blind. Coolish Chardonnay, though blind I’m closer to modern Meursault than Chablis. Left bank 17, say Montmains? It’s cool fruited though not grippily saline. Holds its line nicely. When revealed I could probably convince myself it was Chablis, but one advantage of blind is that I’m enjoying it for the lovely wine it is rather than thinking it’s not grippy enough for proper Chablis. I suspect this is as good as it gets in the new norm though. ****

Beautiful, long, DIAM 10 cork. This is developing quite nicely. Has rounded out and deepened since bottle drank over two years ago. Showing Chablis typicity. Minerally lemon curd. Textured and complex. Will add to this note on day two. Day 2: stony, minerally notes even more pronounced. Quite structured and well behaved.

Much better than the last bottle. Saline and cooked lemon on the nose. Palate shows more lemon with nice depth and acid.

A light and zippy chardonnay with a lot of citrus and some floral notes. I sadly didn't get much for minerality, shell or salinity, which is what I look for in Fevre wines. Just a light energetic chardonnay. This was consumed on the day purchased from a local store.

Mostly lemon but a touch of oak on the nose, then a crisp attack of citrus fruits, and for now, just the start of a more complex middle section and finish. Already very enjoyable but I think another two years will do it some good and get rid of the oak. Great value at 20€

Very young, showing high acidity, restrained white fruit, and slight oak on a quite long finish. Needs 1-2 plus years in the cellar to settle down, take on weight, and gain complexity.

First of six. As others have alluded to, this leans more to the ripe stone fruit and melon side of Chablis, versus oysters and citrus notes. I felt it was missing a little zip on the finish, especially considering the vintage. Nonetheless, it had good depth and balance, as well as that saline quality typical of the region. 90-91ish.

Perfect for us with Florida Stone crab, cream spinach and small potatoes. Crisp, clean bright refreshing. Suggests that this could be a Chablis Chardonnay that you can cellar for years.

Last tasted 7 months ago it was apparent it needed more bottle time, and I was hesitant to try another so soon. However, I needn't have worried, as the seven months have worked wonders and it is drinking beautifully straight from the bottle; it does benefit from being opened a couple of hours before. It is has a classic chablis profile with clean crisp flavours, but with a wonderful buttery palette.

Unlike the 2016 which is absolutely singing, this really needs a couple of more years in the bottle to have it in its prime drinking window. However, that said, it actually is very enjoyable with the bottle opened a few hours before consumption, and it really develops rapidly in the glass. It possesses classic clean Chablis characteristics on the nose and palate, and has impeccable balance with a decent finish. Upon reflection I might give this another try in 6 …
