Pnp. Cork. It's lovely. The glass makes a massive difference on this. We tried Zalto and 2 top end Riedels. The Somm series showed the best. I could write a different review for each glass. But the Somm series produced balenced dark fruit. Dense. It's in a good place. More secondary than primary. If you like the brighter flavors drink now. Or wait several years to see if tertiary flavors evolve. But feels like it was meant to be drunk …

Screwtop edition. 2 hour slo-ox tasted over 2 nights. Dark concentrated blackberry, noticeable alcohol and edgy blunt tannins that barely dissipated or integrated. Didn't change over 2 days. Likely the growing conditions of the vintage. Doesn't matter, I won't be buying the 2010 again.

The initial nose was smoked meats/bacon. Palette is persimmons with smooth, well-integrated tannins. Once it had time to breathe, the palette revealed baking spices: nutmeg and cloves. Fruit evolved toward bing cherry, with caramel and cream. Could use a little more time in the bottle.

Opened the bottle with the screw top; still have the cork closure in the cellar. Hoping that the bottle with the cork will fare better. This was disappointing. Just not much complexity or soul. Fairly undistinguished.

Really tasty. Drinks well. Tannins have mellowed. Fruit is still there. Balanced and smooth.

Decanted three hours. Stunning Oakville Cab with licorice, orchard fruit, black pepper, pure and dense cassis, long finish. A beautiful wine showing beautifully. No rush.

Beautiful, concentrated, great structure, gorgeous fruit. Finally coming around and starting to open and develop. Be fun to follow over the next few years.

Delicious! Dark fruit, hint of game from the PV (yes it's a higher than normal percentage but it works well with this wine). Dark, rich, nice tannin structure, long finish.

PnP at home for no good reason. In fact, all the glasses are packed for the move so drank out of a solo cup. But this was still terrific. Deep fruited. Nice tannic structure that did not bite too hard at the end despite the wine's youth. This has a long life ahead. 94+

I was concerned that this might be at the end of it's drinking window, but did not seem to be the case. Decanted for several hours and the wine continued to develop in the glass. For an 03 cab this was wonderful and the best wine of the night by everyone (6) Just an excellent cab.

Truly fantastic! Extremely powerful but refined! Balanced and silky smooth. This is a "heavy boned" wine and is loaded with layers of complexity. A very "sexy" wine! I had this in the PJ tasting room and a couple years later at home. It was even better the second time!

Did a vertical tasting of 06-10 on New Years Eve. The 2010 was an interesting wine. What was essentially undrinkable at release was quite different 5 months later, showing some real potential to age into a very good wine. It's still young with pronounced tannins. Some serious fruit on the nose, and some depth of cocoa and coffee. This is one to hold an watch - it is destined to improve with age.

Did a vertical tasting of 06-10 on New Years Eve. The 2009 was the least favorite. It wasn't a great year to begin with, and the 21% petit verdot was clearly the winemaker's attempt to bring structure to a flabby Cabernet. It wasn't a bad wine, but nothing like the other years, and not one I expect to open up like the 2006 did.

Fantastic wine. Fruit is all there with no signs of a near term meltdown. This is why I love Stelvin Caps. I would buy all of my high end wines with them, if given a choice. I will try my last bottle in a year or two.

Did a vertical tasting of '06 to '09. All decanted 3 hours. This wine was too young to drink - it lacked structure, tannins not well integrated, it needs another 5+ years in the bottle. The high petit verdot content is a bit puzzling, but I'm willing to give it a chance in later years as the wine mellows and integrates.

Big, sweet and fruity, but with good balance and nice length. I thought the oak was very well integrated. Drank very young. I found it a bit heavy at the end of the meal, but overall enjoyable. Not $100+ per bottle special though. This needs a big steak.

judgment of chicago-California Cabs vs Bordeaux (Chicago IL, Ward's) : nose: completely overblown oak on the nose with some bits of red cherries and red currants. Just way too overdone and horribly over oaked on the nose that masks a good amount of fruit taste: big and overblown on the palate too. Loads of oak and a good amount of heat with red cherries and red currants overall: the only thing that works for me is it being put together. …

Intoxicating deep and ripe nose of creme de cassis, purple flowers, black cherries. Very deep nose. Soft on the palate with full throttle extraction, blk cherry, tobacco, kirsch flavors finish long and concentrated. The only detractor being a slightly bitter finish.
