Pnp over a few hours in a 2012 new world Pinots tasting. Wow is this a wild one. It appears ruby with good clarity and some brickish hues. The nose explodes with an addicting big stink. Manure and wet earth, bramble with hints of unripe strawberry, pomegranate, sumac, and black salt reflecting some reduction. The palate has an ethereal velvety entry, vanilla and spice leading to blackberry, raspberry, pomegranate, with a salty spine, very well integrated acid providing generous lift …

Old world style pinot. Black cherry nose with dust and hints of fresh acidity maturing into elegance. In the mouth dark fruit with dirt and good acid. Remarkably rich for 12.5%abv. Consistently good wines from this producer

After the bottle was empty, I had a chance to review my previous TN and it was spot on almost three years later. Still slightly heavier than something from Oregon, but the sourness has evolved into a hint of herbal savoriness. Give it 10 minutes of air and it is ready to go. What a beautiful and an excellently made bottle of wine.

This is still excellent. A little cloudy with minor bricking. Ripe but light red cherry, orange peel, integrated tannins. Well made. 12.5% abv. Drink now -2022.

I'm not a fan of California Pinots. I am a fan of this wine! Bright strawberry, cherry and white pepper on the nose. The palate is filled with tart cherry bordering on sour but with perfect acidity. It's body is heavier than an Oregon pinot, yet not over the top like most of the typical Cali Fruit Bombs. Class wine from Ojai Vineyard, again.

Very old world in style, with sour cherry, cedar block, dried rose pedals, yellow corn tortilla and gravelly sea rock. Very sophisticated and quite feathery during the long finish, with poise. 12.5% alcohol. Drink now - 2019.

Deep ruby coloring. Aromas of raspberry jam, plum, black cherry, sage, mint, floral, cola, earth, and tar. Like the nose. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of dark red fruits, cola, interestingly peach, and spice. More complex on nose than palate, but enjoyable overall. First experience from this winery. 91+ nose, 89 palate, so I'll meet in the middle at 90.

Light dusty nose, palate is fairly ripe, nice deep flavors, deep cherry, excellent acidity to balance, just a hint of roasted fruit, big but pretty well controlled. Label says 13.5 alc, which might be possible, I would have guessed a bit higher. A good wine for someone looking for this bolder style, though frankly it's a bit too much for my tastes.

A high pitched plum, cherry, strawberry, straw, Orange Julius. Mouthfeel is full and textured. Finish is a lighter version of the nose with a dry stone finish. -- Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!
