It's 11 months later and this wine is still dark, sultry and very enjoyable. This bottle's TN mimics our previous TN with the addition of a note that there was a fair amount of sediment upon decant, and a bit more of an earthy note on the palate, but still plenty of dark fruit. Would suggest drinking up in the next couple of years for maximum enjoyment.

This bottle may have been the best we've had of this wine. Decanted for 20 minutes and improved somewhat with more air. The color was a deep dark purple to a faded rim. Both the nose and the medium bodied palate were heavy with dark fruits like blackberry and blueberry, along with some black cherry and bramble notes. Immediately after opening the wine showed big, chewy tannins with ample fruit. After 1 hour open on counter, the tannins calmed down a bit and the fruit developed nicely. Drinking pretty well now, but I think I'll wait another 2-3 years for the rest of my bottles.

Opened a bottle nearly a year ago and gave it an 89. Opened another bottle 10 months later and it has a lavender bouquet, great well round blackberry fruit and some sage. A very nice wine, obviously better with age. Upgraded to a 90.

The petite Syrah gives this wine a fuller, more tannic texture than Jocob's other offerings. The Grenache gives it plenty of fruit and the Mourvèdre reflects the terroir. Overall a very rounded wine with fruit, tobacco and a hint of liquorice. Will be better with another year or two in the cellar.
