Encore bien jeune mais avec de l’aération et un bon accord, le vin développe une belle profondeur et une salinité remarquable.

Still green and stemmy. Time hasn’t resolved it.

Managed to get the entire Bessin-Tremblay Chablis lineup when the 2020s rolled around. And they have all been great! After this one all I have left is the Valmur, we'll see when I open the GC. This one paired beautifully with pan seared scallops with a beurre noisette. Very clear color. Nose is very mineral with fresh lemon zest. Palate follows. Lemon zest, green apple, white florals, flint, and a long refreshing saline finish. Extremely well made.

Seeing the awful gold color of the Dauvissat, the clear hue of this Chablis was such a comforting sight to behold. A tad sweet on the edges in the early going, but as the wine warmed, we had a lovely core of Chablis goodness, lots of dry extract, less oceanic (tide pool etc) and more on the mineral / rocky side, and some flint on …

The other tasting note is on point! Had it with butter scallops. Crushed seashells, sea weed, some salinity. Light lemon as well and a medium to long finish. I also notice some tree moss, sage and dead leaves. Amazing quality here! Wish it was easier to find!

The last Bessin I have tried was the 14 Fourchaume a few years ago, so I was excited to give this a go based on how well that wine showed. Lots of good news to report back, especially for the Chablis purest: Loads of oceanic material hit right away, sea mist, tide pool, and good thing too as Dungeness Crab was on sale locally for $8.99 for the whole crabs. So with 3 crabs shelled this was a perfect accompaniment …

Orphans of Burgundy Tasting : Impressions. Good linear aromas, classic Chablis steely palate with round finish
