Stærk i næsen. Stor kompleksitet. Meget Riserva-agtig.

First bottle in a few years and this is starting to get there but really very youthful. There is a Tuscan garden aroma to the nose with loads of herbs, tomato and dark cherry. There is some coiled intensity to the palate but still very fresh - a sense of many layers of flavour with some black tea joining plum and cherry. Acidity is keen and moreish making this a good pairing to the pasta we had it with and …

A unique blend of Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera. The wine if full of vigor and a somewhat full bodied depth. Simply stated, it's delicious and is a great companion with food.

* Opened 1-hour before serving, no decant. Right off the bat, the 2011 Sodi di San Niccolò showed tremendous allure. Still dark and brooding in color, but with maturity showing on the nose - with very distinct notes of tawny port, leather, tobacco, dried herbs and cherry. Really stunning, couldn't keep my nose out the glass. In the mouth - medium to full bodied, round, perfectly integrated, very smooth tannins, decently long finish. Very textured, and a solid structure that …

Wow, for me the best vintage of this beauty I‘ve ever had, in my opinion outstanding. One of the best in Chianti Classico year by year, but this time it has everything, the flavours, the body, the depth and the balance. For me it‘s the right spot, but there should be years to come, if you like it.

POW! After a three hour decant, this wine pops you in the face. Hard to believe this is mostly Sangiovese based on the sheer power and concentration. There is a tightly wound ball of energy in this wine and I cannot put my finger on it. Atypical for Sangiovese. Almost exotic with its expression. Could it be the small amount of Malvasia Nera that provides its signature punch? Nevertheless, this is a powerful wine.

This wine is deep ruby colored. In the nose the wine is pronounced with a beautiful variety of red fruits, like red cherries, strawberries and raspberries. Additional there are wonderful oaky notes, cedar and black tea leaves. The palate opens with a juicy fruit with aromas similar to the nose. Secondary notes are already well integrated, as well as the high and beautiful acidity. The tannins are medium(+). The body is medium, the wine has excellent balance and ends with …

Dernière bouteille. On note passablement d'évolution.

2 hour decant. Muted nose of fresh cherries, earth, and notes of kirsch. Supple palate with red raspberries and bright red fruit driving forward with energetic acidity and notes of clove. Prominent but plush tannins with cranberry, rose water, leather, dried apricot, and a lingering leather, olive, and oak finale. Really balanced and well put together wine.

The nose is bright red cherry, menthol and earthy black tea. The mouth is so smooth, soft red fruit with a finish that explodes with vivid acidity, softening out with red plum, menthol and a lovely earthiness. Really good stuff. Drank it over 2 days, tasting it 3 separate times. It just keeps going which bodes well for the future.

I purchased this without tasting and regret it. It smells as unclean and stewy as it tastes. Aromas of mushrooms and soy sauce. Full-bodied but rough-textured and filled with stewed black cherries, garden herbs, balsamic mushrooms and soy sauce. Not for me --- T says "super fruity" 90.

A true beauty of a wine. Drinkable but still youthful. High consentration on the nose, plum and ripe cherry, some sweet licorice and herbs. Taste is fruitdriven and all primary notes. The sweetness from the fryit and the sharp acidic edge harmonizes so well. The wine is a typical Supertuscan in many ways, but the fruit here is amazing and very compelling. Delicious and an excellent meal companion. We had long finished our meal when we had the last two small glasses. They were terrific with lots of red fruits and an inviting spicy aftertaste. We had given the bottle a short decant and found not solids. Immediately this wine was excellent and nice enough, so enjoy a bottle if you have one to enjoy.

Really love this wine. 1 hour aerate/decant and this wine was singing albeit with still some bite from the tannins which i enjoy.. dark red/plum in the glass with a clear rim. Graphite, stone and minerals on the nose along with some heat from the alcohol. great food wine (penne arriabiata w/ sausage) - great sense of place with lingering finish redolent of red fruit ....plums, cherry. can age and improve for another 10+ years

Bouteille OFF?

I will not beat about the bush: I find this a very difficult wine to enjoy now, but my guess (hope?) is that it is simply far too young. The medium deep colour shows hardly any evolution; the nose screams Tuscan Sangiovese (85%) and the Malvasia Nera (15%) adds a spicy, black fruit complexity, depth is good, but there is also something raw and rustic about it; the palate is dry, tough and tannic, with a truckload of acidity and …

Pours on the paler side of sangiovese with some bricking at 7 years of age. Blueberries, cherries, violets, balsamic, tobacco, leather on a very complex nose. Acid is screaming on the palate and the tannins are quite soft. Things explode on the finish and stay warming for minutes. Looks are deceiving here and it will interesting to see how it develops.

Light ruby red in color. Signs of brickage on the edges. Earthy, Stoney nose mixed with spices. On the palate this is an austere wine, a bit acidic. Hints of black fruit, and raisins mixed with vanilla. Finish is moderate. This may develop over time. Let the other 2 bottles age for a year or more.
