A gift from my family in Korea. Storage conditions would have been less than ideal. Very rich crimson centre, a small amount of fade towards the rim. Black currant, graphite, and cedar on the nose, it's quite a big nose. From double magnum. Aromatically intense. Blue berries. Vanilla. Not perfumed. Soft and round tannins and integrated acidity contribute to a balanced mouthfeel. Surprisingly good wine. Everybody‘s darling. Nothing difficult.

High across the structural board with super silky tannins. Blackcurrant, black plum, vanilla, tobacco leaf, meat, prune and chocolate. Almost inky appearance. Outstanding.

An easy choice amongst limited choices on a restaurant menu in Brazil. Dark fruit, medium weight, noticeable oak and alcohol. Not unpleasant and was a nice accompaniment to too much meat.

A fruit bomb and a bit too jammy. Still three left in the cellar to drink.

2017 vintage

Notes from day 3 after being opened and stored with cork in the fridge. A real hit of blueberries and blackberries on the nose - like smelling a freshly opened bag of sweets (in a good way). On the palate the berry flavours persisted and there was a hint of tobacco at the end. Only shortcoming was that the finish was short, which was disappointing. Would buy this again as a nice weekday wine.

Smells: Plum, vegetal, chocolate, spice, wood Taste: Cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, slight citrus It's a bit warmer than I expected in terms of tasting the alcohol. It's fairly fruity with some complexity and the expected slight vegetal notes of a chilean cab. Full bodied, moderate acitiy, moderate tannins. Pretty good QPR.

2021 vintage

Bought 3b for 13.5/b from local eclectic independent shop, part of 4-shop group in the state; this is #1. Dark purple; fragrant blackcurrant nose, medium oak; same plus bit of cocoa on the palate, good mouthfeel. Held well for 24h, somewhat less bright but fine. Consistent notes for the other two bottles drunk over the next two weeks. Among the most reliable Chilean producers; would re-buy for everyday Cab Sauv. Short-term ageworthy. Quality/age/price: Notable+.

짜파구리와 소고기를 같이 페어링했다. 과실향도 오크느낌도 무난하고 마시기 편안하다. 좀 차가운듯 시작했는데 온도가 올라가며 부드러운 느낌이 강해진다.

In typical Chilean fashion, this wonderful cab sauv has an exemplary mouthfeel. It's a typical dance here, but every note has ample room to maneuver around your senses. Blackberry and blackcurrant play frontstage while the layered tobacco, vanilla and oak set a beautiful backdrop. Straightforward yet gorgeously arranged, it is smooth and acidic with a long finish and moderate tannins. Truly smashing quality for the price. Decant and enjoy.

I got one in an auction recently for cheap and got out of curiosity. I was quite impressed, quite a nice wine. Acidity holding things together nicely, soft tanins very resolved now. Tons of fruit, mainly black currant, cassis and plum. Balanced acidity with leveled tannins. Spicy finish. Has years to go. Great QPR

2017 vintage

On a Lufthansa BC flight from Singapore to Frankfurt. Dark ruby colour. Intense cassis, cherry, blackberry, light bell pepper, spices, black pepper, some cedar, and some chocolate, with good acidity, ripe, well integrated tannin, and god length. Quite balanced, only the alcohol is lightly warming. Drinks well. A safe bet, as always.

On the nose, aromas of black current, tar and black olives. The palate is rich with fruit flavors of black current, blackberries and bing cherry. In addition to the fruit flavors there is tar, black olive, vanilla and some baking spices. This wine now has soft, med+ tannins and med+ acidity.

Tasted at a charity tasting event sponsored by a large NJ retailer. Dark garnet but not that purple/black I hate in Cabs these days. But the nose had a distinct melted plastic smell about it. This is big, jammy and tannic, mostly black fruit. Inexpensive but uninteresting to me.

This Cabernet has a very nice silky mouth feel. Upfront I got fresh herbs, tobacco and blackberry compote. The balance between acidity and sweetness is good. A pretty good effort for the money….

I am always impressed by the quality of Monte Alpha, the Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon are a particular favourite, and they certainly can rival some Napa Cabernets at five times (yes x5) the price.
