Selbach Saar Riesling Spätlese

Light gold color. Aromas of white flowers (intense), lemon and wet slate. Flavors of lemon/lime, minerals and a touch of white pepper. A lovely and pleasant touch of funk on the long and mouth watering finish. Gripping acidity. Just a touch of sweetness (expected more). Adult lemonade! A real crowd pleaser. Solid QPR.

Slate minerality, almost over-ripe or baked red pear is very forward. Mild notes of Ume plum or Japanese umeshu plum wine. Slight smokiness to the minerality. Rounder, smoother, and slightly less acidic than many other Mosel reislings. Very good could pair well with a wide range of dishes. While it is better than most, overall, its slightly less acidic nature could slightly limit its ability to cut through some food pairings on the far fatty end of the typical Mosel …

Lemon-lime, lychee, peach. High acid with light/medium sweetness. Paired with a thai dish, was great. Hard to stop drinking it.
