Clos Saron Syrah "Heart of Stone"

A real stunner here! This had the lightest color, red fruit. It was clear and channeling old Northern Rhone and very old Burgundy. It was so light in color. Then the light red forest fruits, jump out at you, and much of the forest as well. Blind Jan 3rd (Wu's Wonton King) : Served blind. Showed clean and vibrant. Amazing bottle of wine. This is a single site syrah and has aged into a beauty. Very northern rhone, but has a deeper fruit element as well as lots of earthy forest notes. Loved by all.

Complex shifting aromas of bright fruit, black pepper, forest floor. Clear delicious fruit on the palate with great intensity, almost no tannins. Balanced, continuous, integrated. 50 + 17 + 17 + 9 = 93.
