Similar to the 2016, this is best served at cellar temperature or just slightly colder. A multi-layered wine with mineral, floral, and herbal elements overshadowing the fruit just a bit. Very elegant and deep. It was a bit better on day 2 with the acidity more pronounced. Lime zest and orchard fruits. Very enjoyable.

In Verona at Antica Bottega Vini a must stop for wine aficionados. Nice clear light yellow - clean orchard fruited and floral nose w mineral base - tart enough but not puckering - focused but not sharp edged - rounded enough and well stuffed but not cloying and sans sweet or bitter tail. Hits nice spots. Good way to be introduced to the charms of Soave.

Prompted by Daniele's divergent experiences in the two notes preceding this, it seemed timely to open one of two bottles of this I have left. Lemon-Gold colour with good brightness Appealing nose of lime to the fore, backed by lemon, honey and a more general savouriness that avoids a simple 'fruit salad' aroma. Brutta sorpresa all'apertura, purtroppo. Avevo preso molte bottiglie di questo Soave perché lo trovavo notevolissimo. Supponevo fosse destinato a un medio lungo invecchiamento. Da un paio d'anni non bevevo una delle bottiglie che tenevo in casa. Questo 2010, dopo soli otto anni, purtroppo è in caduta verticale e sostanzialmente imbevibile. Peccato, ho aspettato troppo, ma sono spiacevolmente sorpreso...

Il dorato intenso predispone già a meglio, il naso vario e complesso prosegue sulla stessa linea, ma è il sorso che mi soddisfa in modo entusiastico. Ricco, avvolgente, non perde sapidità e snellezza nonostante l'estremo calore e la densità di frutto, finale lungo dolceamaro che non vorrei smettere di berlo.

From Garganega, the most widely grown white wine grape in the Veneto region. If you prefer a fruity white, you won't find it here. What you will find are soft, delicate aromatics of dried honey, lemon tart, and a touch of flinty minerality. It's full-bodied and voluptuous in the mouth, with just enough acidity to give it lift. Straw coloured with lemon to the fore on the nose, but with supporting almonds, honey, tropical fruit and something reminiscent of fabric softener (albeit a positive influence - not coming across as 'chemical').
