After 13 years, still needed time to open up, took about 2 hrs to fully unfurl. Bitter Black cherries, dried raisins, some fresh prunes, still very powerfully tannic but very fine mouth coating tannins they are! Aged dried herbs like an old bouquet garni, lovely tar as well, only missing the floral lift which we have come to expect from Nebbiolo. Still has a long life ahead technically. I feel will still be singing in the next 5 years at …

Going strong. At peak perhaps. Delicious. Great core of red cherries, spice, minerality and that tangy Italian thing.

Day 1, too closed and tannic. After one glass, re-corked and waited for Day 2. Still not the friendliest bottle but the Nebbiolo does shine through. Firm, structured, best with food

Gift from Davide and Miriam received when I visited the winery (Thank you!) This is a truly beautiful Langhe Nebbiolo. In this vintage light footed like a tiny dancer, but still with force and grace. Very Burgundian in style. Nose with lovely Nebbiolo perfume, roses, red berries, raspberries and a fine exotic spice mix with minerals present. Palate shows fine and spicy, with herbs, sour wild berries and sweeter and riper raspberries and strawberries on the finish. Good long finish …

Very nice. Dark and fragrant, nice structure with fine tannins. Long currant and red cherry fruit on the long finish. Mature, but still with nice vibrancy.

Initially tannins dominated with little fruit. After a while dark fruit and spices developed nicely. But after another 1-2 hours the fruit diminished and the tannins once again took over.

GRANDI MERLOT ITALIANI : Degustato alla cieca. Solito vinone moderno, alcolico e concentrato, tanta liquirizia dolce e tanto legno. Simile al Redigaffi, ma con registro più vegetale, pirazine sensibili. Ben fatto, ma nessun segno di eleganza né capacità di emozionare

- Garnet color and has flavours of rose - 1hr decant, not sufficient. Closed on nose, possibly too cool. Opened beautifully in the glass through meal. Classic rose with tar hints. Better on second day

Bottle with lunch at Osteria Vignaiolo near La Morra. Very fine quality at a very good price. Pretty red color, though a bit darker than expected. Soft fruit, good acidity, and nicely expressive tannin--an excellent balance that diminishes the sensation of the relatively high alcohol level. Good accompaniment to food and seemed also enjoyable on its own.

Tasted @Loccanda Fontanazza, La Morra. Sweet red fruits in the nose at the beginning giving way for plum and a touch of vanilla. On the palate plum and prunes with pepper and leather in the aftertaste. Strong tannins and a nice acidity. Very soft in the beginning though.

Quote from the supplier: "Not only for Barolo/Nebbiolo purists, this glorious wine is so accessible, so downright drinkable, it deserves a place on everyone’s (top) table. Despite its lowly, generic appellation (think ‘Bourgogne Rouge’ in Burgundy), Voerzio’s 2011 Langhe Nebbiolo is better than many producers’ top Barolo. Dried fruit and dried flowers provide ethereal top-notes, while a concerto of rich red and blue fruit soars from the glass. The palate is beautifully judged: rich, yet with absolutely impeccable balance and …

Tasted from tank at the winery. The 2011 Nebbiolo is a delicious wine, very true to the variety. Lovely fresh nose, with rose perfume, stone dust and a lovely hint of raspberry. On the palate this wine offers a spicy, fresh and mineral filled impression. Lots of tart red berries, cranberry, lingonberries and some sour red currant. Very structured and transparent. This will come out great once in bottle. (90 – 92)

Gourmet Traveller wine nebbiolo tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney) : rose and coffee note, medium minus intensity, very slight red plum and cherry, slight toasty notes. In the moth the wine is juicy but with sweet fruit notes medium plus chewy but fine tannin join on the long finish. Okay, needs time.

Dark red with lighter rim. Generous nose with cherries, alcohol, chocolate and some coffee. Immediate good fruit and very concentrated. Very tight and lots of tannins. Good lenght. This must be nebbiolo at its toughest. Tannins apparent like a tough, young wine but this is already 7 years old. still showing no signs of aging. Wait 10 years and hopefully it might polish off some of the tannins.

Nebbiolo Night : Very bright and youthful, but still aromatically complex and nicely evolved. Sweet cherries, earthy tones, spices.. quite a beautiful nose. Very nice on the palate too, calmed down and in refreshing balance. Showing very well now but might get better. Quality. On the other hand, the '01 of this seemed to be over the hill, but I don't think there's any risk with this for the next couple of years.

The wine is a medium to dark ruby with some bricking at the edge. The exotic nose is full of cherries, rose petals, licorice, baking spices, scorched earth, minerals, underbrush and tobacco. This has medium body, moderate to solid tannins, and very nice acidity. On the palate, the cherries, roses, and spices pop out first with minerals and earthy elements coming in on the back end. Poured in glass for an hour before sampling, since no decanter available. Fairly dark ruby color with a much lighter edge. Really nice nose, one of those wines you can sit and sniff all night, with dusty, earthy cherries, rose water, licorice, and tobacco. Medium body with solid, puckering tannins and good acidity. Not as giving on the palate yet, but what's there is very nice. Red fruits, earth, and spice make appearances before the tannins kick in. Fairly short …

Very nice nose of flowery roses (and is that Lavender?).... Decanter for an hour and drank most of bottle over another three. Not a lot of fruit on first glance and out of balance with super drying tannins on the end. After some more time things came more into focus and balance - really nice Langhe Neb. Popped and poured. Nice aromatics, you get some of the dusty rose and cherry that Nebbiolo is known for. The palate is full bodied and more tart than sweet, but is closed for now. The finish is a wall of drying tannins that will take a few years to integrate. I was hoping this wine could be an early drinking 2004, but based on this showing it needs years.

On the nose tart and slightly damp smelly. On the palate still tannic with fresh but unexceptional fruit. Coudl be an off (slightly corked?) bottle, or could be far too youg. Or of course, could be an unspectacular wine.
