Outstanding with nice citrus white fruit nose. Tastes amazing. Lots of bright tropical and spicy white fruit. Rich and detailed mouthfeel. Very pure as well. For an older chardonnay, this one is doing very well. Cork came out cleanly and with a pop.

2022 vintage

Cork about 1/3 infiltrated but was solid. Muted upon opening, no bouquet at all. Pale yellow, slightly gold color. Taste upon opening was a soft, mature chardonnay. But time in glass brings out sharpness and acid. Fruit is hard to pin down. Like an exotic melon. No oak. Thickness in aftertaste that coats and lingers. There is almost a volatile component here when aerated in mouth but does not linger. Could all this be unique to Hyde vineyard? Am used …

I think this wine is nearly great. Well integrated flavors, a hint of wood, balanced, pure, great mouthfeel. This is a chard to ponder over. We still have two remaining!

Last bottle of this. Still pretty delicious. It's light and lively with a lot of the fruit other notes have called out. There definitely is a toasted oak finish. Given all the above, this wine can definite go a few more year. For all the CT peeps who still have this wine, hold for a fun occasion. Cheers.

Second bottle that I taste. Not bad at all. Well made but I would have expected more complexity and tension. Compareable with a subtop Burgundy Chardonnay.

On opening the bottle it smelled of unripe lemon and tartiness but after a 1 hr decant and some intensive aeration it gets better. Definitely not yet in it’s prime. The nose has lemon, lemon thyme, grapefruit, green tomatoe, lemon and lime peel. On the palate it’s thick with alcohol, creamy and bitter with high acidity and lemon, melon, butter cucumber, grapefruit and bitter orange. Wait until 2024 at least. It’s got class but it’s a baby.

Pop and pour. In the glass, clear pale-medium gold. On the nose, lemon, thyme, and a bit of oak, not a lot. On the palate, a crisp attack blossoming into a mouth-filling dose of lemon, peach, and acidity, with a long, slightly smoky finish. Still comes across as a very young wine, but it has a lot to offer.

1st bottle drank of this vintage. Somewhat tight when first tasted but used aerator to open the wine somewhat and it became very enjoyable. Clean and round but not creamy. DuMol is my preferred Chardonnay and this a pleasurable bottle. I think it will age for some years and recommend allowing it to breathe well if you want to enjoy it now.

This terse but viscous Chardonnay needs more bottle time or a longer decant (I did two hours) to unfold, but I've had enough DuMOL Chardonnays to think their steeliness is a feature, not a bug. Light yellow in color, medium in body, nose of grapefruit, gooseberry, and almond. Flavors of cantaloupe, golden delicious apple, and brioche, with a steely and sour finish. 14.3% alcohol. White peach, ananas, citrus, smoke, butterscotch. Palate is very creamy but with fine acidity and minerality in the finish. Resembles a Meursault 1er Cru. Excellent

Excellent. Very nice body on the wine. We usually drink the DuMol chardonnays at a later age, but it was a special occasion. I am going to look for a few more bottles of the Hyde.
