Dark ruby red with pinkish-orange rim. Redcurrant, unripe raspberry, mild baguette, mild tobacco, mild oak, dried herbs and spices. Full bodied, medium-high acidity, medium-high tannin, medium high structure, medium alcohol and long finish. Elegant, good dynamic range and well-balanced. Despite a cooler year, the wine tasted full and voluptuous. Tertiary notes started to emerge. Opened for an hour but did not decant. Prime to drink now and should continue to progress for another decade. Still abundant of fruits, tannin and …

Off the list at Nicolas. Quite reductive and tight at first, took time in the glass to open up. Fruit was inexpressive at first as the palate was dominated by herbs and wood spice. When I finished the last glass at home, the seductive sweet red fruit began to emerge. Hold for a good few years.

Dark red colour. Expressive nose of red and dark cherries, raspberries and blackberries. Some nice herb notes, probably from use of whole bunches. Complex and forward. Great structure in the mouth, with good acidity and soft tannins. Very long. Concentrated. Open and good now, and should keep for a decade. Excellent

Cherry with tons of spice and funk and a bit of cola in the background. Nice effort

Tasted at a big Lucien Le Moine Tasting with approximately 30 wines. A big step up compared to the 2011 in my perspective. Seductive notes of spicy minerality, also some sweetness of fruit, with darker and also higher pitched berry notes, some earthy notes and cedar wood/tobacco. It's medium-full bodied with pretty high acidity and medium-high tannin that is very balanced and integrated. Very good length. An excellent Echezeaux.
