Okay I admit, I'm just not a fan. Having had this quite a few times now. Perhaps it's the vintage, or maybe I've been spoiled by the likes of Dauvissat and Raveneau, but this Preuses comes across as merely a very "correct" Chablis. It's interesting to see how far Dauvissat and Raveneau surpass others. The gap in minerality, freshness, and acidity may not seem vast, but the difference in class is striking. Absolutely grand. It's what you look for in a great Chablis. Honey, nuts, almonds and chalky minerality. Everything is in place, but very refined. Wonderful. Big glasses and some air recommended. Drink.

This was a steelier wine! Refined pure nose of stony minerality and green apples. The palate was also tighter, yet cleaner with its precise mineral flavors. A crystalline expression of its underlying terroir with strong acids on the steely finish. A brilliant young bottle of Chablis.

Leiden at the end of summer : Still young. Tight nose, lots of minerals. Palate concentrated, lovely minerality, crisp acidity. This will only get better when it opens up.

California versus France at Claudio's (Claudio's House, Chappaqua, NY) : Drinking well despite its youth. Muted but not necessarily tight, mineral driven nose with fall fruits, acetate, and melon. Expands nicely in the mouth to be a medium bodied, refined wine with a medium-plus finish
