Midsummer Roses: 4th Annual (Matt and Brenda's, Minneapolis, MN) : Pale pink color. Small taste. I didn't care for this, quite bitter, and nothing to really counter that.

Red berries start-to-finish with good volume for its level and an intriguing sweet background note. Great value wine.

When you part the absurd bombastic fog from a Lyle Fass tasting note you often find good wine. TBH I approached this with a little trepidation given two consecutive flawed bottles of Berlancourt Chardonnay Les Equinces, one of the greatest white wine bargains since the first Cistercian monk put a hoe in the ground (or insert your favorite Fass encomium here..). Red berries start-to-finish with some candied orange peel, ending nicely bright and (almost) taut while clearly ripe. This will be a wonderful wine for summer nights this year and next.

Weird. Cork was soaked, and broke when I pulled it out. Taste was not good - heat damaged? Buuuut it was part of a mixed case and all the other wines so far have been excellent. Chalk it up as "burgundy."

Orange peel and something lightly spicy on the nose. On the palate, raspberry, strawberry, and notes of rhubarb and orange peel, with strong acidity on the medium finish. This is fairly complex and somewhat unusual for a Rose. It was a very good to excellent value at about $30.
