Drinking extremely well right now. Finally living up to Robert Parker‘s rating.

Day 1. Cellared since release. Decanted in glass. Very bright! A bit too sweet. Fruit forward dark cherry predominates. Not at all what I remember from 3 years ago.

I found this disappointing considering the huge RP score

Dark fruit, dark plum, pepper, moderate tannins. Plenty of age left. Drinking well after decant, but save remaining bottles a few more years.

Muted nose. Black and blue fruits, vanilla, meaty notes. Medium/full body. A bit fruit forward still. Tamed tannins. Medium length finish.

Last one. Comparing to a 2013 Syzygy, a similar blend. This last one was ready to be consumed. Starting to brick and losing the layering to be very muted. Still good.

Great bottle of red wine; paired with burgers from the grill and it was perfect. Robust red notes on the nose and palate. Tannins have softened beautifully. Wish I had more!

Really not my cup of tea. This has typical red sour fruit, which I tend to find from Sonoma, along with quite pronounced acidity. It improved with decanting but overall this felt a bit thin and uninspiring. Not something I'd buy again and was overpriced at $40 plus tax; don't know why this got rated well.

A little better than the one I had a few years ago but still felt a bit lightweight and not so expressive.

Serving at slightly higher than normal temp brought out additional notes and flavors not previous present / perceptible. 91

Great QPR. Nice floral aroma. Dark fruit flavors with a hint of dark cherries. Nicely integrated tannins. Definitely worthy of the RP score, although personally, I think it may have been slightly overrated. I like this wine, and definitely worthy of a 90+ score, but perhaps not 97.

Delightful example of earthy California Bordeaux-influenced style. Smoky but clean - no excess weight or mismatched alcohol level.

Opened, but not decanted, at a NYC restaurant with my wine group. Our final wine of the night. It had been almost a year since my last bottle and time has been good to this. While I'll never understand WA's 97 point review, it is a very good wine. Enjoyed by everyone in my group.

I wish I realized how good this was when I first bought it in 2016. Very sad this is my last bottle. It has aged nicely in the cellar. I doubt the '14 will reach this level. It was $22.....should be $80

It got better. Big, bright, fruit forward wine. If you can enjoy the style, you will be pleased. Exceeded my expectations. Plus points for aromas and persistency. Could be more complex or deep , but at this price point, excellent qpr.

Had this with my wine group, it was the last of 5 red wines. The only wine of the night that had any Malbec or Zinfandel in it. So it stood out, as being a little more fruity, and syrupy than the others. For some of my group, that was a welcome change, it was too jarring to enjoy this as much as I have in the past. I don't think the wine has gone downhill, yet, just that it …

Last bottle was the best bottle. After 5 hours in the glass, it really opens up with dark berries, pepper, meat/blood and stone. Great balance. Patience will surely be rewarded with this one.

Very nice balance. Nice restrained cab nose with a hint of oak; same on the palate. In both cases, balance and nice integration of flavors. Red fruit on the nose, red and black on the palate with some, but limited tannin plus some licorice notes on the finish.

Needs time for sure. Not well integrated at this point and rather tannic. I am not a fan of the style, but it seems well enough made.

Nice blend with many desirable characteristics. Deep rich fruit, medium tannins. Would be rated higher if better integrated, or layered. Fruit profile is a bit muddled.

Big but not overpowering nose with a mixture of red and black fruit, hint of oak. on the palate, complex notes of dark fruit, oak, tobacco, etc. Perfect with steak. Very smooth and easy to drink. Seems to be aging well though I wonder how much longer?

This wine never disappoints: balance of fruit and structure; CS and Merlot on the nose and esp. the palette. A bit of oak but well structured; improves with time open. Great by itself and holds up well with robust food.

Very enjoyable. I'll probably never see the WA's 97 point rating, but a solid wine, and a crowd favorite. I opened 2 bottles to share with a dozen people and everyone liked it.
