This is really well-made Willamette Pinot. Not precisely my style of wine - but it's complex, it's reasonably balanced, and it's spot on for the appelation, avoiding the pitfall of excess ripeness and being slathered in treacly oak. A lot of red fruit - red cherry, some strawberry, hints of black tea. Alcohol makes its presence known, but not over the top. Mushrooms and a bit of forest, and hints of VA. Long finish. better acid than one might think. …

Very nice tonight with grilled iberico st louis ribs. Lighter in color, bright cherry fruit, great core of acid. doesnt try to do too much which I really appreciate. this is nicely made juice.

Very Good++ No notes, showing the deeper base tones of Pinot here, some spice, dark cherry. Lively for how dark-fruited it was. Nice QPR as a $14 USD "mystery" buy (2019) 13.7% abv Empty bottle weight: 657g

Dinner w/ Friends & Impromptu Blind Tasting (Eagle Brook CC) : Cherry and a hint of sulfur. Subtle sandalwood and warm spice qualities. Perhaps not the most representative example of this wine.

Never a “barn burner” but ALWAYS consistent with a great QPR. PnP. At ten years this is in early maturity: mostly garnet, but still displays a small, solid, deep ruby core. Leads with autumn leaves, week old strawberry, dried cherry, cooked raspberry, cranberry raisins, old spice, dying eucalyptus, and plowed hay and red mineral infused dirt. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Wonderful balance of mature red fruits, mild tannin, and medium acidity. Finishes strong. Enjoyed with pesto baked salmon, spinach, and pasta. …

Same as earlier notes, more CA than OR in style for a Pinot. Probably has peaked but still in good drinking window.

While the wine is starting to show its age when it comes to color, the palate is still vibrant and delicious with typical Pinot noir character. In a great spot now!

ABV: 13.7%. Opened this bottle to see how it's developing, only to learn that it's still way too young. Almost 6 hours after opening, the nose is extremely fragrant with roasted herbs, Christmas spice, and forest floor. There's plenty of red fruits hidden underneath the herbaceous notes, but it's currently not expressing itself to the fullest. The wine's still a bit discombobulated, even though there's good fruit and ample acidity on the palate that leads into a lengthy finish. The …

Up one more point yet. This pours a cola like color. Bricking prominent. But the flavors and the depth are still phenomenal. Outrageously delicious right now.

This btl was less exciting than the one from a year ago. A little gloopy and undelineated, in line with a number of 14 OPNs I've had.

Pretty classic Willamette PN. Nose dark cherry, raspberry, blackberry. A bit of herbal/garrigue notes, tea and pie spice. I could be led to believe this was an oaked southern Rhone if blinded, though it fits Willamette pretty well. Clearly saw oak. Palate is fairly balanced, still good fruit, if sweet and a bit hot. Acid is good and redemptive here. It is not my favorite style, but it is a good representation of what Willamette does with PN.

PnP, and enjoyed with orange, black garlic baked Cod and penne with alfredo. Love how far this has come over the last two plus years: medium body, seamless integration, a melange of intense red fruits, structure, balance, and a strong finish. Should cellar well for another 3-5 years.

Clear dark ruby color. Dark cherry liqueur aromas. Dark cherry, spice, and herbal flavors evolve on a lengthy finish.

Last of the case, and it’s starting to show its age. Still quite good, and if you like secondary characteristics this is definitely your cuppa. Still some cherry flavors, tending more to sour, but the forest floor, mishroom, and black tea are much more assertive. Medium finish. Drink or hold, but tending toward drink.
