This Springbank whisky is a 14 year old cask strength aged in a Madeira cask. The nose is typical of Springbank, citrusy, somewhat briny, vanilla, and hot. I really didn't discern specific aromas that indicate the Madeira influence. A taste neat is dominated by the cask strength alcohol, but the entry is slightly sweet which could be the Madeira influence, salty as it coats the tongue, then the heat takes over.
