Guys Night Part III (Jason's House) : Drank a glass at a tasting. Fairly typical California chardonnay. Nice quality, needs some time to hopefully improve.

Mostly Cali at Jason's : Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. A different wine from what I remember before. Some minerality on the nose, more buttery, oak tones, and wood spice; the palate is fuller bodied, spice, butter, rich, solid.

Last bottle of this from my cellar. Lovely citrus cream with integrated fruit and a sophisticated entry. Well placed oak makes this an elegant and mature offering at this juncture. I truly enjoyed this wine so much. Great producer.

Nobody ever called me a Parker acolyte, but he is dead on on this wine. Absolutely fabulous Batard-Montrachet quality wine. How, for a neophyte California winemaker, I do not know. Wonderfully deep and complex wine with poached apple, pear, pineapple, camomile, daffodil, yellow honeysuckle, oyster shell. Obviously unfiltered. Remarkable grip and finish which is long, long, throbbing, pulsating, textured and intense. Even shows better ten hours later in the big Riedel Sommelier Burgundy glass, with extra layers of complexity and …

After opening a bottle of this a few nights previously that was corked I panicked and wanted to make sure all my remaining bottles were of a similar state. No worries as this bottle was pristine and drinking beautifully. Gorgeous, rich golden color with lovely aromatics. Lemon creaminess on the palate with rich mouth filling fruit. Lovely structure and balance and lingers on the finish. Great bottle of Chardonnay.

Monthly Tasting Group: CDP's and Southern Rhones (Porter Creek, Mpls, MN) : Followed 1 glass for 30 minutes. This didn't work for me tonight, buttery, sharp and angular, new wood, alcohol showing. The nose was nice, but the palate seemed pretty disjointed.

Lovely Chardonnay to start Thanksgiving festivities. Bright golden yellow with lovely aromatics. Gains complexity and depth of flavor as it warmed in the glass. Lemon notes on a lovely palate-pleasing delivery. Delicious fruit and floral notes on the nose with emerging tropical flavors lead to a long satisfying finish.

No notes taken, but I really enjoyed this. Made in a bigger, riper style than I usually buy but with nice acidity and a great finish. I suspect this will improve with another 6-12 months in the cellar and then drink nicely for 3+ years.

Stellar Chardonnay with the full range of beautiful aromatics, perfect weight and body and lasting finish. Gorgeous fruit here with citrus notes with underlying tropical brilliance and minerality. Pops right out of the glass and provides a comprehensive drinking experience. Loved this wine!
