More nuance than power at this juncture; fruit and structure have reached maturity, components in harmony. Stood up to the chargrilled NY strips. There’s definitely “enough in the tank” to see this through another 1-3 years. Drink now.

Well past its drinking window, unfortunately. The bottle felt relatively still closed after 90 minutes of decanting, but already being in the restaurant past close, we drank away. It was an interesting experience for me, my girlfriend, and the restaurant's two somms. I regret not being able to experience this 10 years earlier.

Wow what a difference 5 years made in this wine! The cork was pristine. Cedar and tobacco and dark fruit notes jump out of the glass.. The tannins are now beautifully integrated with the fruit. Dominant blackberry and a little plum, less anise than last bottle. The wine leaves a subtle but very long lasting tingle on the palate. I matched it with some dark chocolate and was very happy with it. Could be at its peak so enjoy.

A beautiful mature old school Cabernet. Starts with a shy nose, that gradually improved with time. Red fruits, cedar, tobacco, leather and dried herb aromas. Silky smooth body with red fruits, cassis, herbs, tobacco, cedar and mineral flavors. The tannins are fully resolved.

Decanted for 2+ hrs, then drank over 3 hrs. Drinking wonderfully now. I suppose you could hold it for a couple of years. But why risk it> It’s beautiful today! Had with marinated grilled filets, wild rice, and Caesar salad. Great wet tobacco, plum and sage nose. On the palate chocolate, dark berries, plum, and oak, with wet tobacco on the very long finish. Very disappointed this is my last bottle.

At 21 years of age this wine is showing no signs of decline yet I would rate it as fully mature. A quite lovely Napa Valley Cabernet. Medium to full body, perfectly balanced, delicate nose which opens up as the wine breaths, medium to long finish. Nice accompaniment to a Medium Rare Filet. Drink now or hold for another 3-5 years. Will benefit from a 60 Minute decant. Mind you, my bottle had perfect storage, take that into account if …

I’ve evaluated this wine on a number of other occasions between 2012-2016. Still hitting on all cylinders, showing no signs of imminent abatement. Decanted and enjoyed with a medium rare ribeye and grilled Brussels Sprouts. Clear, deep ruby color, no signs of bricking. Mature, initially leads with a bit of herbaceousness and cooked bell pepper, but settles, yielding black and red currant, dried blackberry, stewed raspberry, black coffee, old leather, dried tobacco, and dried earth. Structured with still chewy tannin …

Tasted very flat. Not turned or overaged, just flat and boring. A stark contrast from young Schweiger wines. Maybe they just weren't meant to age. Really disappointed.

Fun to try 20 year old cabs like this. '99 was a good vintage and have enjoyed many from that vintage. This held up well - nothing tired or awry though the fruit profile was weak. This had more of an earthy and smokey tone.

Opaque black with a half inch pour. Very rich mouth entry with tasty blackberry, black currant, and black cherry, buoyed up by a perfect undertow of acid and tannin. Dense, powerful, mouth filling, and big, with a lovely sheen of smoothness, elegance, and integration from being aged for 14 years.

Nice wine and typical CA Cabernet. Black cherry, plum, cassis fruit mixed with spice, pipe tobacco , and some savory components mid-palette. Finish is smooth and silky with more black fruit and now earthy notes. A slight astringent aftertaste lingers after a minute leaving a dry impression. Agree with other tasters that this wine is within peak drinking window. No need to wait any longer, drink now - 2020

For a high altitude Cabernet Sauvignon that on release is dominated by powerful tannin that is backward, tight, grippy, and astringent, this 13 year old wine is a stunning Olympic gold metal gymnastic flip. Round, soft, integrated, seamless, rich, fruit forward, and luscious, while remaining refreshingly acidic and amply tannic. Overall, magnificently well matured, comparable to great left bank Bordeaux wines made with higher proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Big aromatic nose of cedar and dark fruit and flavors of blackberry and slight touch of anise. Finish is a bit short on the mid palate on the second night of being open. Paired well with grilled lamb and mint jelly side sauce. Dark fruit flavor was deeper and more intense in the 2 hours after opening. Suggests the wine is mature but not yet in decline. Still I will be consuming my remaining bottle within next couple of years.

No real change from Feb. of this year: “ A rich plum color fills the glass as a bouquet of cassis, plum, tobo, licorice and mint rises from it. Well balanced with fully integrated tannins, it glides across the palate. The finish comes up a bit short. A well made wine.” Not as much sediment in this bottle as in the last. 14.9% alc. With grilled (beef) burgers. Recommended.

Six years have passed since I last pulled a cork on this wine. The husky “big boyness” of the wine at that time has matured and slendered into a well-shaped, sculpted Napa Cab. The finish comes up a bit short. A well made wine. Significant sediment with some on …

Tasted open for 6 days. At 12 years old, still opaque with a thin red outer ring. Generous nose of blackberry, black currants, and blackberry. Still firmly tannic and refreshingly acidic, along with getting closer to round, lush, and integrated. The swallow is delicious, caressing, and throat coating. Overall, Schweiger consistently makes rich, concentrated, and well structured Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlots that are outstanding values among the high altitude mountain appellations in Napa.

PnP, garnet in the glass, decent cab nose of black fruit and roses, loads of fruit and cassis on entry along with still going strong tannins.....This wine seems a little heavily tilted to the fruit and wood. Perhaps I'm just not getting it but there doesn't seem to be much depth here, kinda like everything was just thrown out on the kitchen table and it's sitting right there for all to see on one flat level. At this prp there …

Decanted about 2 glasses for 4 hours, then consumed over the next 3.5. Cassis, black plum, black cherry, pencil lead, and dried herbs. Full-minus bodied. Medium-high acidity. Medium-high, drying tannins. Fairly long finish. It's a good wine but still seems hidden under the acidity and tannins. I'd like to give it another year or so before consuming the rest and give it a lengthy decant.
