Still drinkable but passed. Materized butterscotch.

I don’t have much experience with wines like this but I found this to be delightful. Intense vibrancy, with a lovely oily texture. Perhaps a bit quirky, the color was a little brown, perhaps suggesting it’s fading, but on the palate this wasn’t obvious to me. Delicious with my salmon meal.

White and Red Burgundy (Scott and Amy's House) : Drank a small glass at a tasting. Unfortunately, this is a bit past its prime. Slightly oxidized and nutty. It still has some interest, but I have to believe this was better a few years ago.

Aromas of mineral, lemon and a touch of vanilla. Flavors of lemon meringue, mineral, pie crust and vanilla. Ends with a nice lemon meringue filled finish of 20+ seconds. Better than the last time I had it.

Pale yellow medium body. Nice nose followed by lemon, grass chardonnay fruit. Pleasant finish. Wine opened slowly so i should have waited 45 minutes.

This has a nice stony mineralty running through it with notes of lime and stone.

Very nice wine. Well made. Big, bold and buttery as has come to be expected from Meursault. Typical oak notes do not dominate. Went great with cod.

Not really a remarkable Meursault at his point. Seemed too closed to really appreciate it. It had a nice finish though. Needs time. No score.

Nice bottle of wine but not sure it was worth $37.

Decanted the wine and was not initially impressed. After about an hour it began to open up. I think the bottle may have been too young.

Very low-level TCA. Didn't detect it at first, but as the wine got more air, it became much more noticeable. The taint was subtle enough, though, that I could still appreciate that this is a very nice villages Meursault for near-term consumption.

Had a small bottle of this with the Plin @ Serafina last night. Nice pairing with good mineral and nuttiness.

Wine Cellar 2009 Burgundy tasting (Wine Cellar) : A fairly intense nose with mineral, red apple, tangerine peel and greengage. There is a leesy note. A full-bodied, broad-shouldered, richly textured wine filled with red apple, bircher muesli, tangerine and a touch of apricot. The leesy oatmeal underbelly provides girth while the wine is held together by a chalky, tingling mineral-edged acidity giving focus and precision as the wine unfolds. Not super complex; this is a lovely correct Meursault.

Well-integrated, but on the subtle side, with citrus, orchard fruit and hazelnut flavors that gain intensity and weight on the palate.

France 2011 - Côte d'Or; 7/8/2011-7/13/2011 (Beaune) : Tasted at the Domaine. This is a blend of 3 parcels (2 of the 3 are at high altitudes). Complex nose of nuts, yellow and stone fruits. In the mouth it’s quite weighty and soft with almost a creamy texture yet it manages to finish quite fresh with some tart lemon notes. Drinks well enough now but will probably be better in 5 years. Excellent. 90+

Rich, clean, full and pure. Linear and decisive on the palate. Pulls all the way across the palate. Its hard to imagine a better white burgundy. On second taste: with much extract on the mid-palate. Someone knows exactly what they are doing here.

Joseph Drouhin Pre-sale at Block 7 Wine Co. (Houston, TX) : My favorite wine of the day, at least as far as how it's drinking now. Lemon, red apple, nectarine, vanilla, and honey. Amazing balance of fruit, oak, and acidity. Smooth, medium-plus length finish.
