I haven’t been a huge fan of these Walt pinots. I generally find them extracted and one dimensional. This is definitely along those lines, but a few years’ age has softened it a bit. Still very fruit forward and some sweetness. Good acid and a bit too much alcohol heat. It’s got like a little too much of everything. But it’s pleasant to drink. Not bad for a Monday night with a light meal, but low QPR.

Pnp. Lovely Burgundian style Pinot. Forest floor and fruit on the nose, light pear and blackberry. High acid and medium finish, low tannins. Cherry, black currant, mild funk. Great Anderson valley grapes.

Decanted briefly. This is definitely a Cab drinker's Pinot Noir. Dark fruit accompanied with noteworthy tannins. This was our fourth experience with this wine and all were consistent. We are glad we still have several bottles remaining.

I really enjoy Walt PN. This one with a little age on it. Black fruit, plum, red fruit. Not as good as some other Walt Pinots I've tried but enjoyable nonetheless

Similar to the 2017. Decanted for 30 minutes. Continued to open for another 30. Big cab lovers pinot with lots of dark fruit, especially dark cherry, and strong tannins.

Hall Winery virtual tasting. When I saw the alcohol content (north of 15%) I was doubtful I would enjoy this wine - I was wrong. Clearly a cab drinker's pinot as described by the winery rep. Dark red color (very dark for a Pinot, can't read text under glass). On nose, blackberry, sweet cherry, burnt sugar, saline and touch of menthol. On nose, bright cherry and sweet cherry primarily. Medium+ body, medium acidity, low tannins and long finish. Let sit …

Soft and flavorful wine. A candied sweetness to the cherry fruit that I didn't enjoy as there wasn't enough body or structure to offset it. Maybe too young at this time and the sweetness will calm down over time.

Soft and elegant, with beautiful cherry and red fruit notes. Got better as the night went on.

Nice spicy nose (nutmeg?) with an intriguing sweetish, toffee’ish tinge that expresses itself as the wine sits in the glass. Red fruits and plums dominate a smooth mouthfeel.

Rich, lucious and slightly heavy PN from Anderson Valley. More robust than the Pinots we tend to enjoy from RR and Carneros. Darker fruit notes but with a long and elegant finish.

Good, solid, medium-full bodied pinot. But doesn't seem like a great QPR at $67.50. Score reflects the price point. They make others that are far better. Red fruit dominates and ends up being a bit one dimensional. Some spice on the finish.
