Enjoyed at a restaurant (Daniel's in Miami) with superb steaks. Decanted and consumed over about 90 minutes, this was gorgeous and singing virtually from the moment the cork was popped. Beautiful color, beautiful nose, medium weight, lovely finish. Somehow, almost Burgundian. In contrast to some other TNs, this bottle (the restaurant's last) seemed fully mature and at absolute peak. Ran through a vinturi, which helped somewhat and then drank over the next two hours. The nose is red fruit, roses and tar, the classic barolo expression. The palate started out quite tannic and it took the entire time in the glass to relax somewhat, this should be decanted for several hours or left to age in the bottle for several more years, it felt still on the young side.

Second bottle in a month a very consistent 94 from a very demanding palate like Nicol. Definitely some decanting helps here and took its time to open up. This is the right balance of modernity and expression of the terroir and frankly barrign the very few of the old schoolers a style we really like. This can go another 20 years too. Very solid 94 again.

Tuesday Night Blind Tasting (Atlanta, GA) : Tasted blind. Sour cherry fruit, dark wood aromas, firm backbone with grippy Nebbiolo tannin, but time has been good to this wine.

Nice mature Barolo. We had it decanted and the wine needed it. Unfortunately our waiter dumped the wine in so the lees were agitated. These are quite fine, so the last two half glasses had a good bit of suspended particles in the wine. Definitely rolling over here. Acidity is supple but not striking. Guessing tannins aged the wine to heat and those are rounding out and soft tertiary notes of mushroom and truffle are standing up.

Ruby color, needs an hour decant, and near peak it seems. Bright red cherry on the palate. Smooth tannins. Very nice with veal and pasta.

A real beauty! Perfectly aged Barolo (cellared at 13 degrees since release), although Clerico is not as traditional as other Barolo producers. Silky and smooth, deep cherry fruit (more on the red side), forest floor, leather. Maybe on peak, but no hurry, will hold for further 5+ years. Stable over three days, 95.

Kept in a wine cooler since purchase in about 2013. Popped and poured. Dark purple. Nose: a slight note of very refined sous-bois, rose, cherry, old paper and glue; very nice. Four years since my last bottle. Pnp at home. Unusually soft and resolved Barolo in the vintage context upon opening. I like the fact that the wine avoids all the pitfall of this hot vintage with tannins that are gentle and integrated and no signs of oxidization on the earthy palate whatsover (i.e. much better than Clerico's Pajana from the same vintage).
