Vino Noceto Sangiovese AX-1

1st hour: This is pretty hot and alcoholic. There’s none of that forest floor earthiness you get with Italian Sangiovese. All that is perhaps expected with an Amador Sangiovese, but the lack of fruit is surprising- and disappointed. Perhaps at almost 8 years this has become a hot mess?

Really well made, not as special as the 2012 we tasted at the winery. Brought back some great memories and went well with Lasagna.

Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Ruby color with brick at edges. Nice nose of cherries, spices, leather. Quite light on the palate, smooth and very slurpable. Finishes fast with light grip and low tannins. This is modest in its attainments, but also delicious.
