Real Chassagne-Montrachet quality and style at a much cheaper price. This is a white wine winner for me this year.

2022 Bourgogne Tasting at Dill. Short notes only. Slightly floral nose. Palate lush ripe fruit, towards the broad side. Easy drinking. I prefer more tension.

Reductive nose, slight tinge of greenness, acid burn - reminds me of cheap German chardonnay; perhaps better with food

Good depth and complexity for the level. Nutty, buttery, smoky with a gentle perfume. More aromatic than fruity. Surprising depth and breadth on the palate: slightly flat though, with a prick of acidity and a mineral twist not quite providing enough tension to really get the juices flowing. It is, however, a convincing Meursault-lite, if just a little dilute on the finish. At £25 on the table this would be a buy - at £30+ I'm not sure

WineEP x Stannary Burg tasting (67 Pall Mall, London) : Very expressive nose. Some gunpowder reduction, persisting even after an hour in a wide-ish glass. Yellow peaches; pretty generous palate despite not being a 'broad' wine; this is really pretty good, albeit fully priced.

Meursault touch. Marzipan and crushed stones. Lacks a bit acidity. Better on day two

Stannary Burgundy 2022 EP tasting (One Whitehall) : Some Meursault typicity on the nose (apparently 70% Meursault grapes), gently rich palate with riper fruit to finish. Maybe a touch more acid?
