Greg Linn Pinot Noir Rim Rock

Nose promises cherry cola and red spices, but the palate isn't there at all. Totally flat, just dry tannins and no fruit whatsoever, almost like an absence of flavor, very strange. Seems like an off bottle, but perhaps that's just being charitable? Hard to say. Alcoholic burn is there, but nothing else. Tastes like it has collapsed somehow, and given the earlier tasting note I have to wonder what happened to this wine.

Smoky, with an overwhelming taste and aroma of coffee grounds. Very tannic. Fruit seems a bit tired and deflated. Why is this priced at $80 a bottle???
