Deep, rich, extremely lush. Black cherry and blackcurrant notes, fine tannins and balanced acidity.

This is in an excellent place right now. Dark plums, blackberries, dark figs, cedar, tobacco and bitter herbs. There's a real herbal streak through this despite the noticeable oak. Everything is well integrated with a nice tension between fruit and non fruit flavors. Full bodied, medium tannins softened from the 17 years of age. Great pairing with lamb cacio e ova. I would drink now; but could benefit from further aging.

I served this in my wine course. Ripe with somewhat rustic chewy tannins. Nose of blackberries. prunes and smoke from the noticeable oak. Nice, but not worth the price unless this comes together better with age. Would recommend pairing with lamb for now.
