Domaine Henri Rebourseau Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle

This wine rubbed me the wrong way. It is pungent of burnt excessive oak mixed with overextracted fruit. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately this is not an enjoyable wine. Tasted against benchmarks like the denis bachelet GG vielles vignes this has nothing on it. I rarely consider a wine non drinkable but this was really hard to like.

Gamey. Stemmy. Earth floor. Then opened up a little and could smell the fruit

Heaps earthy to start, mushroom, forest floor etc not holding back Then, more classic burgundy with a soft and salty edge, it’s delicious, kinda surprising, would probably would order with cheese, root vegetables, browns rice, cous cous. Quite something.
