I tend not to have great success with the less expensive St. Joseph wines and this was no exception - quite thin and not so inviting, with high acidity.

Nice mix of black fruit, licorice, minerals, and crushed rocks on a smooth frame. Mature, drink now. Decant recommended, lots of sediment.

Very deep coloured; dense nose, really brooding and suggesting powerful rich fruit; full and rich on the palate, lovely weight and full spectrum of tightly wound violet-tinged Syrah fruits. Great density. Medicinal on the finish.

Decent but not very exciting

dark red fading to clear edge. Dark plum, cinamon, rubber, sandlewood.Good intensity of dark fruit and leather flavours in a medium light body. Slight bitterness on the finish does not detract. Very good. Leave the last bottle until 2012

Nose is getting more complex, including barnyard and stewed plums. Let this age for a another year or two.

A little bit cool coming out of the cellar, but I was "thirsty" and couldn't wait. Quite fragrant, and my previous notes about black fruit and meatiness still hold. I think I will let the rest of thes age for a while.

Dark ruby. Bright black currant and underlying meatiness, with a top note of buttterscotch. Cherries and cream notes in the mouth, with a firm finish. Impressive Syrah wine at a reasonable price.
