Cantina di Gallura Vermentino di Gallura Superiore Canayli

I've been drinking this Vermentino for a few years now. There is variation from year to year in acidity and floral vs saline vs herbal notes, but it has always been good. This one has notes of green apple, lemon zest, dry herbs, and a piquant mineral finish.

This might have the slightest cork or other taint. More like a stuffy room than a musty basement. If faulty, an unfaulty version is probably nice. Had ground-up-and-re-glued cork, as side note.

Onesto vermentino che fa della sfacciata bevibilità la sua arma migliore. Naso privo di eccessi aromatici e bocca più sbilanciata sull’acidità: si assesterà con qualche mese di bottiglia. Ottimo compagno di pietanze marine non troppo elaborate.

Meyer lemon, citrus, crushed candy (smarties), white peach, melon, chalk, flint on the nose. Flavors consistant with the aromas. A little more citrus on the palate. Bitter almond toward the finish. Full bodied, good acid. Rounded. Very nice effort.
