Nice minerality and structure

Completely unlike earlier vintages I had several years ago, which walked right up to the line with full-bodied, dark-fruited, old-viney complexity and extraction, but was somehow never over the top. This on the other hand was gentle, even a bit restrained, medium-bodied and wide open, more Burgundy character than Gamay, almost too easy to drink.

Translucent dark inky red. Deep dark crunchy sharp black cherry/black everything, extraordinary depth, very bright, lovey bitter edge. Stunning! Bright bitter redcurrant, smoothed with a bitter chocolate and kirsch, wow this is an extraordinary wine. Air opens it up, it stays very crisp and sharp, overlaid with a softer black cherry and gentle tannins. The cranberry crunch is super bright. It's very young and really good.
